Mactan is the ideal spot for technical diving. Here at Kontiki Divers we conduct tech dives, IANTD and PADI TecRec tech courses, technical wreck diving and cave diving.  The conditions are ideal: the house reef in front of the dive shop drops hundreds of meters and exciting wrecks and caves are nearby.

Our technical diving department is headed by Satoshi Toyoda, or Toyo in short, a living legend in the world of technical diving. Toyo is one of the highest qualified technical instructors you can find in Asia and runs the head office of IANTD Japan. His love and passion for technical diving is incomparable and he enjoys teaching technical dive courses on all levels. Toyo spends most of his time in Mactan now, runs technical dive expeditions and teaches his courses, both IANTD and PADI TecRec.

All courses are taught in English and Japanese.

Toyo is an active scuba diving instructor since 1985 and based in Tokyo, Japan. He supervised a resort diving operation in Guam 1989 and after 1 year, started his own dive shop in Yokosuka, Japan. In the following years his students included U.S. and Japanese Marine Special Forces as well as the Japanese Cost Guard, Fire Departments, Police Departments and Self Defense Forces.

Toyo joined IANTD Japan 1996 as Vice President and Training Director. He was taught by no other than the legends of Technical Diving, including Dick Rutkowski, founder of IANTD, Tom Mount (also called "Mr Deep"), former CEO of IANTD and NAS/CDS, Billy Dean, former Vice President of IANTD HQ, and Joe Dituli, Training Director of IANTD HQ, also supervisor of U.S. Navy Special Dive Operations..
